DATEV eG (Registered Cooperative) is the software house and IT service provider for tax consultants, auditors and solicitors, as well as their usually medium-sized clients. The company is one of the largest IT service providers and software houses in Germany. DATEV’s scope of performance ranges from more than 200 PC programmes over cloud services like online applications, data processing and archiving in the computer centre to outsourcing services and security services.

Background to GetMyInvoices

“No accounting entry without documentation” is the well-known principle of proper bookkeeping. That sounds simple at first. In practice, though, we often see a different story: companies receive their invoices in a lot of different ways, be it post, fax, email or via customer portals. Companies have to log in to x amount of portals to download documents. And then, of course, there are receipts accruing on the go. With all these different scenarios, the risk of forgetting an invoice is high. GetMyInvoices minimizes this risk by automatically downloading invoices from more that 10,000 online portals and importing documents form email post boxes. Those can then be conveniently and automatically exported to DATEV and other systems.

For some time now GetMyInvoices has been listed on DATEV market place. In the scope of the collaboration, scanned documents are sent directly to the DATEV computer centre via the interface DATEVconnect. Clients do not have to install additional DATEV software – a simple authentication through DATEV SmartLogin is sufficient. This means that invoices available in GetMyInvoices can be conveniently integrated into a DATEV account and booked or processed there. The OCR integrated in GetMyInvoices reads all relevant data and transmits it to the DATEV system, too.

Typing accounting-relevant information like invoice numbers or amounts by hand is unnecessary. As well as that, the cooperation between tax consultants and their clients is simplified by GetMyInvoices, as all documentation is digitally available. Troublesome phone calls to chase down receipts are a thing of the past.
